Just Eat price promise will double your money if you're charged more

Those who order food via the Just Eat app could be in line for a financial boost.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, if you believe you could have got your grub cheaper by going to the restaurant or takeaway and ordering directly, then you should prick your ears up, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Sitting at home on the sofa, phone in hand and clicking on a couple of buttons is the way many people order food nowadays, without the need to get their coat on and head out in the car. But you could be paying for the convenience, as most apps have hidden costs.

But with the Just Eat Price Promise, you can submit a claim on the app if you discover that you could have got your food for a lower price by going to the restaurant directly. If you’re successful, you’ll get twice that money back in a voucher to spend on the app.

This doesn’t count, though, if the order comes out more expensive because of the service charge, and it only applies to orders from restaurants and not supermarkets.

Just Eat said: “If you pay more for your menu items when ordering a delivery meal from a restaurant on Just Eat than you would when ordering from the restaurant directly on their own online channels (eg. their own website or app), we’ll give you twice the difference in the form of a Just Eat paycode voucher. It’s as simple as that, that’s our Price Promise to you.”

All you have to do is email your claim over to Just Eat within 14 days of placing your order, and if it turns out you’ve paid too much, you’ll get a voucher for double the difference. So, for example, if you could have got your food for £5 less by going to the restaurant directly, you’ll get a voucher for £10.
