Jury Requests Testimony Review In Trump Business Document Trial

Former U.S. President Trump's civil fraud trial continues, in New York

It has been reported that the court is facing a time-consuming process to fulfill the jury's request to review certain parts of testimony in the ongoing trial. The jury, consisting of 12 New Yorkers, is tasked with determining whether former President Donald Trump is guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business documents.

The specific parts of testimony that the jury has requested to hear again involve David Pecker's communications with Trump and Michael Cohen's responses regarding a 2015 meeting at Trump Tower. This request has prompted the court reporter to meticulously review the transcript to identify all relevant instances that align with the jury's note.

According to legal experts, this process may involve searching through multiple sections of the transcript, including both direct and cross-examinations. Once the relevant portions are identified, both legal teams are required to confirm that those are the only instances in the transcripts that address the jury's request.

It has been clarified that the court reporter will be responsible for reading back the identified transcripts and the judge's instructions, which were also requested by the jury. Despite the time-consuming nature of this task, the jury is expected to reconvene at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday to continue their deliberations.

Legal professionals have indicated that the jury can proceed with their deliberations while the court prepares the requested transcripts. There is a possibility that the transcripts may be ready for review by the jury as early as the following day.
