Timber breaks silence on future amid United interest
There’s no shortage of reports linking past and present Ajax stars with a move to Old Trafford this summer. Frenkie de Jong is the subject of interest from United, while the likes of Antony and Jurrien Timber have also been touted for transfers.
It’s the latter of those names that is attracting the most interest at the moment amid reports a representative of Timber’s was seen at United’s Mayfair headquarters. The defender would certainly offer plenty to United, considering he can play at both centre-back and right-back – both areas in which the Reds need to strengthen.

The rumours linking him to United aren’t likely to be going away in a hurry given his links to Erik ten Hag. Timber though has addressed the speculation, and has revealed he will consider his future this summer.
United confirm new deputy football director
Amid what is set to be a major summer for United as Erik ten Hag gets to work on his squad, there are also plenty of changes taking place in the boardroom. A number of senior figures have been confirmed as leaving the club, with new faces set to arrive.
One of those has already been confirmed, with Andy O’Boyle arriving as United’s new deputy football director. The 39-year-old has previously coached in the Reds’ academy, and returns to the club after vacating his role as head of elite performance at the Premier League.
“I am thrilled to be rejoining Manchester United at such an exciting time for the club, as the first team prepares for a fresh start under Erik ten Hag, and the academy and women’s teams go from strength to strength,” O’Boyle said.
