Two jurors involved in the jury tampering allegations in the Alex Murdaugh murder trial have come forward to speak out about their experiences for the first time. Known as 'Egg Juror' and 'Juror Z,' the jurors recently participated in an exclusive interview with Fox News.
'Egg Juror,' identified as Myra Crosby, claimed that the court clerk, Becky Hill, singled her out for removal from the jury due to her uncertainty about Murdaugh's guilt. On the other hand, 'Juror Z,' revealed as Mandy Pearce, admitted to voting guilty but expressed doubts about Murdaugh's guilt, attributing her decision to influence from Hill and other jurors.
In a preview of the interview, Pearce acknowledged feeling pressured by Hill's actions, stating that the clerk had conveyed a sense of Murdaugh's guilt to the jurors. Crosby also shared her perspective, feeling targeted by Hill's repeated inquiries about her stance on the case.
Both jurors have now disclosed their identities and are shedding light on their experiences during the trial. Crosby, famously known as the 'egg juror' after a lighthearted moment requesting her eggs and purse upon dismissal, expressed her belief that she was wrongly removed from the jury.
The interview, titled 'Fall of the House of Murdaugh: From Egg to Z,' is set to be released on August 27, 2024, alongside Crosby's book detailing her trial ordeal. This development follows the South Carolina Supreme Court's decision to consider Murdaugh's appeal based on the jury tampering allegations.
Alex Murdaugh, convicted in 2023 for the murders of his wife and son, is currently serving two life sentences. The appeal centers on accusations that Becky Hill tampered with the jury during the trial. Despite Hill's resignation amid the investigations by state authorities, she has denied any wrongdoing related to the case.
