Jurgen Klopp is reportedly 'waiting to bring' midfielder Federico Valverde to Liverpool with the Reds boss said to be 'obsessed' with the Real Madrid star. The Uruguayan will face competitions for minutes from new signing Aurelien Tchouameni next season.
Liverpool held an interest in Frenchman Tchouameni, but the former Monaco youngster opted to move to the Champions League winners this summer. Now the Reds could look to capitalise on Valverde potentially facing less playing time, according to Spanish outlet Nacional.
Klopp and his side have seen first hand how good Valverde can play after he assisted the winning goal in the Champions League final in May when Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0. Valverde's versatility is something that may appeal to the Liverpool boss with the 24-year-old able to play in a number of positions.

Valverde has made 148 appearances since making his debut for the Spanish giants in 2017, but there is now an incredible amount of talent in the Madrid midfield and he could struggle to play as much as he would like.
Liverpool are starting to put plans in place for the next generation of their midfield. The ECHO understand Jude Bellingham is one player who the Reds like, but any potential move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder wouldn't be until next season.
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after players in world football and Madrid are also rumoured to be prioritising a move for the England international - who has an apparent price tag of £103 million - next summer.
