Eddie Howe deserves 'all the credit' for Newcastle United's turnaround after helping turn Miguel Almiron into a 'superstar'.
That is according to Tim Sherwood, who has hit out at Jurgen Klopp for the comments the Liverpool boss made about the Magpies earlier this month. Klopp sarcastically congratulated Newcastle on having no ceiling and claimed there are 'three clubs in world football who can do what they want financially' when 'other clubs have ceilings'.
Sherwood, who worked as a pundit with Howe for Premier League Productions during the Newcastle boss' time out of the game, felt Klopp had been 'really disrespectful' and 'rich' with his dig. To illustrate his point about Newcastle's turnaround being down to more than just a £210m spending spree, the former Spurs manager highlighted the improvements Howe has made to a number of players he inherited, such as Almiron.

"Almiron looks like a superstar," Sherwood told the Kelly and Wrighty Show. "Under the previous manager, he looked like someone you would want out of your club as quickly as possible if you could get your money back.
"That's why I think you have to give Eddie all the credit. It's the way they're playing now, the philosophy of how he's put them together, the energy, desire and commitment of the group - not just individual players.
"It used to be [Allan] Saint-Maximin; now he hasn't played in ages. No one is talking about him anymore. He will come back and if he wants to be part of a team group then he's going to be valuable to him, but it's not just about the individual. You can't win anything with just one individual. You need the group to be buying into it."
