Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he will hold talks with Mohamed Salah to decide if the Egyptian will remain Liverpool’s penalty-taker.
The 30-year-old sent a second half spot-kick wide in the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Easter Sunday, having also failed to hit the target with his last effort in last month’s 1-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth. Prior to those penalties, Salah had never failed to hit the target from 12 yards from Liverpool.
Salah has failed to score only five of his 29 penalties for the Reds, but his two recent misses have raised questions about whether he should remain on spot-kick duty, given reserve option Fabinho is just as deadly from 12 yards.

And while Klopp refused to confirmed one way or the other if the Egyptian would be taken off penalty duty, he confirmed he will talk with the forward about his recent record from the spot.
“That’s something we will talk about but not here,” the German told reporters.
Meanwhile, Klopp was pictured briefly celebrating after Salah had sent his penalty wide against the Gunners, having turned his back when it was being taken and mistakenly thought the forward had scored.
Speaking after the game, he would explain his brief confusion.
“I only saw the penalty after the game,” he admitted. “A few people in the crowd reacted, so when you don’t see the penalty, you react on what the people see and a few people obviously thought the ball was in but it wasn’t.
“He missed the goal. So that’s why for a second the fist, and then I realised, ‘Oh, Mo isn’t celebrating.’ And then I realised the ball wasn’t it. That’s it.”
