Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes he has an “outstanding talent” on his hands in the form of Fabio Carvalho, following his game-winning goal against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.
The Reds, far from at their best, fought from a goal to make it back-to-back wins at Anfield for the first time this season after Alexander Isak had opened the scoring for the visitors in the first-half.
However, Liverpool were rescued by goals from Roberto Firmino and a 98th-minute winner from Carvalho, who made it two goals in as many games.

Klopp was full of praise for the midfielder, who the Reds fought off competition from around Europe to secure the signature of in May, after his latest eye-catching cameo from the bench.
“I was really happy in the last moment when we got this corner in the 98th minute, and yeah what Mo [Salah] and Fabio [Carvalho] made of it was absolutely outstanding,” the Liverpool boss told reports after the game. "A wonderful goal, a perfect moment that we score after the 98 minutes and it was the perfect response to everything that had happened within the game.
“He [Carvalho] scored now twice in the last two games, yesterday was his birthday, so it’s probably a better week for the little one.
“Outstanding player, wonderful talent, very mature in a lot of departments already. So I’m really happy for him. Harvey [Elliott] was the best player on the pitch and Fabio decides the game for us so it says a lot about the talent of the boys.”
Elliott and Carvalho could find themselves lining up alongside one another at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon after Klopp confirmed Jordan Henderson had suffered a hamstring injury in the second-half.
