Jurgen Klopp's stoppage-time reaction spotted moments before "great" Liverpool win

Jurgen Klopp cut an animated figure on the touchline throughout Liverpool's 1-0 win over Wolves in the FA Cup but saved his most passionate celebration for second-half stoppage time.

At the second time of asking, Liverpool progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup following their hard-fought replay victory at Molineux. Elliot's thunderous effort early on in the first-half was enough to separate the two sides, with the Reds youngster guiding his long-race strike over the despairing dive of Wolves shot-stopper Jose Sa.

That wasn't what got Klopp going however, with the Liverpool boss celebrating with far more emotion when Elliot got stuck in and made a vital tackle in the 93rd minute.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Klopp conceded it has been a while since his players have enjoyed victory.

"It feels like ages ago we had a feeling of winning and playing well. We had to fight hard at the end which we controlled for long periods. It is great and the reaction we wanted to see," he explained.

Klopp also waxed lyrical about Elliot's display, adding: "It was good from Harvey Elliott, especially after an early knock to the ankle. he fougt through and the goal was exceptional.

"I had a few man of the match performances today. We played a really good first half, had good periods in the second and in the end it was just passion to block the shots. A cup game, great."

The Liverpool boss also highlighted another Reds youngster as he continued his praise: "From the passion we showed, yes. It is my job to help the boys and find the formation where they feel good from the start.

"Stefan Bajcetic and the whole midfield was really compact so it was difficult for Wolves to find the key players like Joao Moutinho. I liked the game a lot."

This contest was nowhere near as thrilling as the first meeting between the teams, which saw Wolves come away from Anfield with a 2-2 draw.

Manager Julen Lopetegui can consider himself unlucky that he didn't earn a win last week in Merseyside when Toti's late winner was controversially chalked off by VAR.

However, his side had their chances but it was the Reds who progressed and set themselves up a fourth round clash with Brighton at the Amex on Sunday, 29 January.

The South Coast has been an unhappy stomping ground for Liverpool as of late, with Klopp's men losing 3-0 there just last Saturday.
