Jurgen Klopp reveals what he said in Liverpool rant to referee during Spurs clash as Anfield boss claims 'I didn't lie'

Jurgen Klopp has revealed what he said to the fourth official after squaring up to him during Liverpool's dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Liverpool boss was shown a yellow card by referee Paul Tierney for his antics on the touchline and now the German has opened up on what the whistler said to him. Klopp raced over to John Brooks when Jota scored the 94th minute winner against Ryan Mason's side at Anfield. He claims he shouted, "Without you, without you" at the fourth official. Tierney was called to the touchline by Brooks and told Klopp he should have been red carded but only gave him a yellow.

Klopp appeared to be furious with Tottenham being awarded a free-kick which led to their equaliser 99 seconds before Jota slotted home the winner. In his post-match interview Klopp went further in his criticism of Tierney. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of Liverpool's game against Fulham on Wednesday, Klopp said: "The whole situation shouldn't have happened at all. It was out of emotion, anger and that is never a good leader for the things you do. I was still angry, which led to the way I celebrated.

"I was shouting 'Without you, without you', which didn't really make much sense. Paul Tierney came over to me and I didn't expect for a second a red card. He said, 'For me, it's a red card'. 'Red card for what?' I tried to calm down, didn't work out properly and then went into the interviews.

"Maybe I should have said he told me it was a red card and I didn't think it was. The rest of the things I said about how I feel about Paul Tierney whistling his games, I'm sure he is not doing intentionally but there is history. These things that happened in the past, in decisive games, happened. That's a feeling, nothing else.

"The refs are really angry about what I said, they say I was lying now. I didn't lie. I shouldn't have said what I said but I didn't lie. It's not my hands what goes on now. We won a game 4-3 in a spectacular manner and only headlines I created (were negative). We expect a reaction because everyone tells us something (punishment) will come."
