Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed what he told Darwin Nunez after the striker was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace earlier this week.
The Reds found themselves 1-0 down at half-time on Monday night and shortly after the break Liverpool 's new signing head-butted Palace defender Joachim Andersen. The moment of madness was rightfully punished and Nunez was given his marching orders.
He'll now miss Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford on Monday night, along with the games against Bournemouth and Newcastle United. It leaves a selection problem Klopp could do without, but the Liverpool boss says Nunez knows he made a mistake and will learn from it.

"Of course we spoke to Darwin," Klopp told his pre-Manchester United press conference. "The reaction is like it is in these situations, he was very disappointed with himself that it happened.
"We spoke to him, the things the centre-half did, he won't be the only player in the world to do these kind of things (to Nunez). If somebody makes a mistake and you tell them 'you should not to do it' - (the response) 'yeah I know'.
"It's about emotions, it's about all these kinds of things. We never had a situation like this before (while I'm here) that's why I'm not an expert in these talks as I don't have them that often.
"It was that obvious he knew anyway. He apologised, which is absolutely fine. We told him it's not necessary to walk through the building with his head down and miserable because it happened, we are human beings and we will make mistakes in our lives.
"You have to carry on and if you don't do it again then it's all fine. If it happens once then it's okay."
Nunez himself took to social media after the incident and has reiterated he'll learn from the mistake. "I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again," he wrote on Tuesday.
