Jurgen Klopp re-emerged on pitch at full-time to produce Liverpool party piece

Jurgen Klopp re-emerged from the Estadio de la Ceramica tunnel at full-time to celebrate with the remaining Liverpool fans after their comeback against Villarreal

The Reds mounted a sensational comeback against Villarrea l to secure a 3-2 victory (5-2 on aggregate) in Spain to reach the Champions League final - their third in the space of five years - as they look to go all the way as they did in 2019.

Liverpool's quadruple bid well and truly alive but at one point it looked like it was slipping out of their grasp as Unai Emery's men had them on the ropes in the first half. Villarreal came flying out the blocks racing to a 2-0 lead with the tie all square as the Anfield club looked out of sorts.

It was a game of two halves however as Liverpool found their groove after the break as Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane secured an unlikely comeback. Emotions were running high at full-time as a result with the players and the coaching staff celebrating among themselves and with the fans after reaching another Champions League final.

One thing was missing, however - Klopp's famous celebration in front of the Anfield faithful.

But he wouldn't leave the supporters hanging as he came back out onto the pitch while the Liverpool substitutes were going through their warm-down routine as the stadium was emptying.

The German emerged from the tunnel with a big grin as he looked towards the travelling fans high up in the stands. A wave was greeted with huge cheers before came his patented party piece as Klopp aimed a trademark triple fist-pump in front of the Liverpool supporters.

Klopp was full of pride for his side’s second-half fightback and reckons it has parallels with Liverpool's historic comeback against Barcelona en route to their title in 2019.

Will Liverpool win the quadruple this season? Let us know in the comment section below

“It’s outstanding, massive - it feels like it’s the first as it’s always so special. I don’t like to compare, but yes it is a massive one (like the comeback against Barcelona),” he said.

“Before the game I told the boys that I wanted to read the headline the mentality monsters were in town…but only to show we tried to win the game from the start.

“But now the headline was like this because you could see how pressed we were in first half and to come back in the second half after what feels like 500 games that the boys have played; it is so special. "

“After the first half the whole world thought it would be 3-0 (to Villarreal) rather than 2-1, and that’s what I said to the boys at half time, but we are still here. Which shows something special.”
