Jurgen Klopp has admitted it took Thiago time to recover from a series of injuries and fitness issues to get back to his best as he continues to impress in a Liverpool shirt.
The Spain international struggled with a calf and hip problem towards the start of the season - issues that have kept him out for 21 matches in total. This was after another injury-hit 2020/21 campaign, where Thiago made just 30 appearances in all competitions.
However, the 31-year-old midfielder has cemented his place in the side in recent weeks and has become integral to their quadruple push this season. Liverpool have already lifted the Carabao Cup and could also win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup before the end of the month.
After winning 2-0 at Anfield last week, the Reds face Villarreal in their European semi-final second-leg on Tuesday night and are set to book a place in the final for the second time in four seasons. Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently a point behind Manchester City in the league with four matches to go and also take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 14.
Thiago has been a mainstay in the starting XI since returning from Covid-19, featuring in their last 12 competitive games. He has formed a dynamic midfield three with Fabinho and either Jordan Henderson or Naby Keita, who have often rotated in that second No.8 spot.
When asked about Thiago's form and getting back to his best, Klopp believes the former Bayern Munich man could play for anyone in the world at this moment in time. He also added that Thiago is good enough to break back into the Spain side ahead of the World Cup later this year.

As per Liverpool Echo, he said: "In the shape he is in now, he'd play in each team in the world and for Spain as well. Just when he got here he was injured and Spain had a lot of options.
