Liverpool will get their Champions League campaign back underway on Tuesday evening in Lisbon. Estádio da Luz is a great stadium. I loved the old stadium but this new one is beautiful. One of the best things I’ve ever seen is when the eagle flies around it at the beginning of the game. It’s absolutely magnificent, the way they do it.
It will be tough. Ajax went there and got what looked like a favourable draw, but Benfica beat them. When you get to the last eight of the Champions League it’s never going to be easy. The atmosphere will be great. The place will thrive on it. But Liverpool just need to try and get a draw or even a win to bring it back to Anfield and make it more comfortable. We’re well capable of doing that. I’ve said already that we’re not playing particularly well but we’re grinding results out.
I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that the draw was the one that we wanted, we didn’t want another English team, but you’ve got to make it pay. If you wait for it the happen you’ll lose, or you might get a draw. You’ve got to go and make it happen. Play in the way that they did in Milan and have done in the past, and they’ll make it happen. Give the travelling fans a good tie over there.

Trip to Man City enormous, but Klopp must resist temptation to rotate key players in hectic April
Liverpool face an absolutely huge match against Manchester City on Sunday and I never thought that we’d get into this position. By Christmas time I thought it was over, but that shows you what a manager and players that we’ve got. Back then we’d have taken being a point behind now with two hands.
A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but it’s taking it out of our hands. We’ve got to go there and play to the best of our abilities and get a win of any sorts. It doesn’t matter. Then it’s game on. City have the easier run-in on fixtures, but if we were able to get our necks in front it will add more pressure to them.
Jurgen Klopp has a lot of high quality players at his disposal but how to use them is a tough one. Ideally, you need Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right and Andy Robertson on the left all of the time. They’re imperative to the way that we play, even though there’s that many games. Personally I would try to play them every game and cut down a bit in training. Try and save them for the games if that’s possible.
