Jurgen Klopp mistake spotted after Mohamed Salah penalty miss for Liverpool against Arsenal

Jurgen Klopp celebrated Mohamed Salah scoring his penalty against Arsenal despite the Liverpool forward sending the spot-kick wide.

Klopp did not watch Salah step up to take the attempt, instead choosing to face the crowd. The German was initially under the impression Liverpool had netted the spot-kick and levelled in a tumultuous game at Anfield.

However, upon turning to face the field of play, he realised Salah had missed and his joy was cut short as he stood with his hands turned outwards in confusion.

It is the second penalty in succession Salah has missed for Liverpool after also sending a spot-kick wide in the defeat to Bournemouth last month.

Arsenal - who top the Premier League ahead of second-place Manchester City - were leading 2-1 at the time the Egyptian failed from 12 yards.

Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville said after the miss: ''You sometimes get that little bit of luck on your way to a title, and Arsenal have just had it, Holding’s just had it, Ramsdale screams with delight.

''[Salah] just passes it past the post, there’s nothing else you can say.''
