Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has unsurprisingly admitted that nobody could have expected Manchester United to lose at Anfield 7-0 on Sunday.
Despite only being one goal down at half-time thanks to a Cody Gakpo strike just before the interval, United suffered a horrendous capitulation after the interval. Darwin Nunez and Gakpo made it 3-0 just five minutes after the restart before Klopp's team pushed home their advantage.
Mohamed Salah grabbed a brace and Nunez added another to his tally before Roberto Firmino finished off the scoring in the 88th minute to complete the rout. Reflecting on the terrible afternoon for Erik ten Hag's team, Klopp admitted that the result could not have been foreseen.

"It was a good moment but being in the middle of the season, the result is only one information I got," the Liverpool boss explained. "The performance is much more important and the three points extremely important. Nobody could have expected it to be 7-0 to us, it was absolutely crazy."
United still look comfortable inside the top four of the Premier League, seven points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool, but the Merseyside club's victory over United has given them belief that they can go on and finish in the Champions League spots.
Tottenham currently occupy fourth place in the top flight but are winless in three games and morale at the club is low after exiting both the FA Cup and the Champions League in the space of eight days.
