Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool transfer prediction after hailing Arsenal moves

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool should take inspiration from Arsenal when it comes to rebuilding his squad in the transfer window.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta arrived at the Emirates Stadium back in November 2019 and he has since offloaded a number of high-profile ageing players, with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaving while young talents such as Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have come through the ranks. Now, the north Londoners are bearing the fruits of this rebuild, currently sitting on top of the Premier League table with less than two months of the season to go.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's clash between the Reds and Arsenal, Klopp said: “Arsenal deserves where they are. I know people are asking for time for managers but I really think Mikel deserved each minute he got there when it was not going incredibly well.

“Good transfers, brought in super important players but not too many. The difference is whatever we do next year will never be enough from people’s point of view and your point of view.

“But yes with smart recruitment we will improve - definitely. That is the plan. And I think this club has a chance to go through this in a classy way.

"We cannot make 24 changes and say 'here we go' - not even ten - but it is just that we have to make changes - smart changes - and then we go again."
