Jurgen Klopp makes class Nottingham Forest gesture as new Liverpool footage emerges

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp showed his class to a young Nottingham Forest fan at the City Ground after their 1-0 victory - by giving him his cap.

The Reds chief made the young supporter's day by placing it on his head after the Anfield side had progressed to the semi-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 win.

The footage emerged after Liverpool posted a behind-the-scenes video of their trip to the city which also showed players stopping to sign autographs and have their pictures taken.

The reaction of the young Forest fan at being given a keepsake by Klopp was priceless and noted by one fan on social media who said: "The kid's face when he realises the boss has let him keep his cap."

Liverpool won the clash 1-0 courtesy of Diego Jota's second-half goal but the Reds were pushed all the way by Steve Cooper's side who spurned some good chances in the quarter-final.

Speaking afterwards, Klopp was full of praise for Forest's performance afterwards in his post-match interview and said: "It’s my first time here and I have to say a big compliment to everyone involved here. Each challenge they won, the crowd celebrated like they’d scored a goal, which I love a lot,”

“It was a massive atmosphere, a massive event. It felt like a European night to be honest. I know it’s a while ago that Nottingham had them, but the crowd is prepared.”

Klopp said the performance from his side proved their passion for the competition as they also chase Premier League and Champions League glory.

“We came through with a lot of passion and desire, which is important,” he said. “We showed really that we want to go through. People can’t tell us that we don’t care [about the FA Cup], it’s the opposite, we do care, we want to go as far as possible. Now we are at Wembley and it’s the place to be.”
