Jurgen Klopp Liverpool training demands explained as Mohamed Salah questioned

On the eve of the Merseyside Derby, it's time for your Liverpool FC morning digest on Sunday, February 12.

'He would scream' - Emre Can reveals Jurgen Klopp non-negotiable at Liverpool

Emre Can has admitted adapting to Jurgen Klopp's intense training methods is the key to succeeding at Liverpool.

The German midfielder, who is now at Klopp's olds club Borussia Dortmund, joined the Reds in the summer of 2014 when Brendan Rodgers was at the helm and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Anfield.

Klopp was appointed manager two months into the following season and quickly put his stamp on the first team, revolving around a gegenpressing system that layers began to embrace.

Can was among those who took to his compatriot's methods and remained at Liverpool until the summer of 2019, which saw him sign for Juventus on a free transfer having reached the end of his contract.

Reflecting on his time in England during an interview with The The Athletic, the 29-year-old said: "When I think back to my time in England, I always tell everyone how much running we did. The Egyptian is joint-top scorer in the Champions League, but his form outside of Europe is worrying and Liverpool need a spark from their main man.

Sutton wrote in his Daily Mail column: "What has happened to Mohamed Salah? Once a Fantasy Football banker, he has not scored or assisted a goal in the Premier League since Boxing Day. He embodies Liverpool’s confidence crisis."
