Jurgen Klopp knows the ‘incredible’ Arsenal star Liverpool must consider after Leicester warning

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has previously hailed Aaron Ramsdale as ‘incredible’, with the stopper looking set to play a key role in Wednesday’s clash between Arsenal and the Reds at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners host Liverpool in north London in a game that looks crucial in the race for the Champions League places. Mikel Arteta’s troops currently sit fourth having won each of their last five Premier League matches including an impressive 2-0 win against Leicester City.

The game on Wednesday looks set to be one of the toughest tests of the season, with Klopp’s troops also in red-hot form. One man that could well be key then is goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The England stopper has been in eye-catching form since his summer move from Sheffield United and turned in another impressive display in victory over the Foxes - one save in particular earning applause as he denied Harvey Barnes. Potentially coming up against the likes of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, Ramsdale will certainly have to be in top form once again.

Reds’ boss Klopp is well aware of his abilities, with the German having been highly complimentary of the 23-year-old last season.

Speaking after the Reds’ 2-0 win at Bramall Lane last February, he said: "The plan was to keep going, do the same stuff again because Sheffield [United] in the moments when we played exactly how we wanted to play, they couldn't deal with us.

"We arrive pretty much alone with the goalie but Ramsdale played an incredible game, few outstanding saves.”

Following Ramsdale’s starring role against Leicester, he was the subject of praise once more - Brendan Rodgers this time offering his thoughts. Following the full-time whistle at the Emirates Stadium, the Foxes’ boss made a stark claim about the stopper’s ability.

He said: “For me he's the best English keeper at the moment. I think he's top.

“His progression since he came to Arsenal, he's playing for a huge club, different expectation with how to play football, I think he's dealt with that really well.”
