'As bad as anyone' - Jamie Carragher slams Liverpool after Brighton embarrassment
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes the Reds have one of the most flawed defences in the Premier League and their blushes are only spared by the excellence of goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The Reds slumped to a sixth Premier League defeat of the season at the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon as a brace from Solly March and a late goal from Danny Welbeck ensured Roberto de Zerbi's side claimed a well-deserved victory, which sees Liverpool slip to eighth in the Premier League table - seven points off the top four.
Taking to Twitter, Carragher, who featured over 700 times for the Reds during his playing career, echoed the thoughts of many supporters after another uninspiring display.

"Liverpool are as bad defensively as anyone in the Premier League right now," tweeted the Sky Sports Pundit. "Fortunately they have the best keeper which means they aren’t further down the table."
The Brazil international, along with Ibrahima Konate, was perhaps the only member of the Reds' squad who could depart the Amex with his head held high in some regards as he prevented Kaoru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson from adding to the Seagulls' early second half lead.

Jurgen Klopp issues apology after admitting to Liverpool mistake in Brighton defeat
Jurgen Klopp says he takes full responsibility for Liverpool's 3-0 collapse at Brighton as he offered an apology to the supporters who made the trip to the Amex Stadium.
Danny Welbeck added to Solly March's second-half double as the Reds slipped to another frustrating defeat on the road in the Premier League. Liverpool have now lost six times this term and find themselves seven points adrift of Newcastle who occupy the final Champions League place.
Klopp's side have won just eight of their Premier League fixtures this term and have taken only eight points from nine away games. The manager made a beeline for the away supporters at full time, offering up a gesture of apology before later expanding on his gratitude to the fans in his post-match press conference.
"Imagine I would have been happy with that? Congratulations to Brighton for playing an outstanding game," Klopp said. "I really thought in moments we made it too easy for them but in general they were outstanding and we weren’t.
"We tried to help the boys with a slightly different organisation. I thought it could have worked pretty well. We had moments where it worked well, where we put them under pressure, but when we won the ball we then lost balls in moments far too easily. That was the main problem. We never got something going. Brighton were better for the whole 96, 97 minutes.
