'He is an option' - Jurgen Klopp hints at Liverpool team selection change for Napoli
Jurgen Klopp has hinted at a recall for Ibrahima Konate when Liverpool meet Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Konate has been blighted by injury since pulling out with a knee problem in a pre-season friendly with Strasbourg at the end of July at Anfield. The French centre-back has made just one start across all competitions this term and hasn't played in the last five after a muscle problem picked up in the 7-1 win at Rangers on October 12.
After a full week of training, however, Klopp has indicated that Konate is now ready for his comeback as the Reds' Group A campaign ends at home to the Serie A leaders on Tuesday evening.
"It is very good that we have him back," Klopp said. "He was ready for the squad now and maybe this is the moment when he can play. He trained yesterday as normal, which is very helpful. He's now had a full week or even eight or nine days, which is very good. He is an option for sure."
