Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool would be “stupid” not to track Jude Bellingham.

The England star has frequently been linked with a move to Anfield amid Liverpool’s midfield struggles, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher recently calling for a major rebuild there this summer.

Bellingham, who has been tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, has attracted interest from across Europe after starring for the German giants.

Standard Sport understands Chelsea have identified the former Birmingham City youngster as a target, while Manchester United have previously attempted to bring him to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid are another leading club to have been touted as a landing spot and Dortmund have already been forced to admit they simply cannot afford to fight to keep the player if major offers emerge.

Still, while Klopp has spoken about Bellingham in glowing terms, the Liverpool boss has denied any suggestions there has been contact.

Speaking to SportBILD, Klopp said: “Jude is a great player who we know, of course.

“We’d be stupid not to have him on our radar. But there’s nothing more to say at the moment.

“These things (talking directly to Bellingham’s parents) are not possible because he is under contract with Borussia Dortmund and that is not possible without their consent. So, it’s not true.”
