Jurgen Klopp admits Luis Diaz gave Liverpool “a scary moment” after the new £49million marked his debut with an assist.
Diaz came off the bench shortly before the hour of the 3-1 FA Cup fourth round win over Cardiff City at Anfield on Sunday for his first outing since arriving from Porto last week.
The 25-year-old took just 10 minutes to provide an assist when capitalising on hesitancy in the visiting defence to set up a chance converted by Takumi Minamino.
Moments later the Colombia international required lengthy treatment having been accidentally caught on the knee by the boot of Cardiff defender Aden Flint as the pair landed after challenging for a header.

But Klopp has allayed fears of serious injury with Diaz able to continue for the remainder of the match.
“He is good,” said the Reds boss. “Thank God! It was a scary moment, that’s true.
“The goal he set up for Taki was absolutely incredible, high press, counter-press, I love it, then Taki finished it off.
“Then the long ball, the heavy challenge, he goes down and holds his knee and we were all really shocked.
“I looked on the screen and saw that everything was fine in the air, everything was fine when he came down, then I saw the big fella of Cardiff stepping on his knee.
“He has now a bruise there and a scar, it’s red and a little bit open.
“We all said to him ‘Welcome to England’, and now he has his first assist and his first little scar. That’s absolutely okay.
“I don’t think it will be serious. Maybe tomorrow he feels it more and we have to react to that, but it’s nothing serious.”
