Jurgen Klopp fires major warning to Arsenal as Liverpool struggles continue in draw vs Chelsea

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned Arsenal that his players are ready to bounce back with a strong performance at Anfield on Sunday. The Reds put in a disappointing display against Chelsea as they drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Klopp made six changes to the team that lost 4-1 against Manchester City last weekend with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Cody Gakpo all being dropped from the starting line-up. Virgil van Dijk missed the draw in west London through illness with Klopp suggesting the Dutchman could return for the clash against the Gunners this weekend.

Liverpool made a number of defensive errors which lead to good chances for Chelsea last night and Gary Neville has predicted Arsenal to be more clinical than the Blues if Klopp's side put in a similar performance at Anfield. The Reds boss was pleased with the 'fight' his players shown against Chelsea and has now sent a major warning to Mikel Arteta's side ahead of their crucial meeting.

Liverpool have won just one of their last eight Premier League games on the road, but are in much better form at Anfield. The Reds have won three consecutive league fixtures on Merseyside, including their stunning 7-0 win against Manchester United.

Following the draw against Chelsea, Klopp fired a warning to the Premier League leaders with Arsenal not having won at Anfield since 2012. "The next game is Arsenal," noted Klopp after Tuesday's stalemate.

"I don’t know exactly where Arsenal were last year, but they are now obviously flying, in incredible shape, play super football, honestly, that is really good to watch. But we are there, it is a home game and our home record is not as bad as the away record.

"It means I am really looking forward to this game now because tonight I saw a step and that’s what I wanted. Now let’s carry on, Anfield is waiting for us and we want to deliver.

"We have another 10 games to play and the next one is Arsenal. Not the other nine, I am not interested in.

"But the next one is Arsenal, so if we are difficult to beat against Arsenal we can win this game. If not, Arsenal will just go over us and then we will see.

"With one point, the steps, how I said, are not massive. If you win a football game, all of a sudden three points for one game; wow, things can look different.

"But for the moment we have no lack of goals, or lack of where we want to end up; we want to be as successful as possible. But that means for each weekend, or for each midweek game, like today, we want to win it. I saw that tonight and for that, I am fine."
