Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has lauded Arsenal summer signing Gabriel Jesus after the Brazilian's impressive start to life under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners come into the game as Premier League leaders whilst Liverpool continue to struggle after picking up just two wins from their opening seven games. Arsenal's only loss this season has come against Manchester United with Arteta's side coming into the games against the Reds full of confidence after four straight wins following the defeat at Old Trafford.
Klopp has hinted at a potential formation change ahead of the trip to the Emirates Stadium but Arsenal are likely to stick with their tried and tested 4-3-3 formation which has seen them enjoy plenty of early success in the season so far. Arteta was able to rest a number of key players including Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus ahead of the huge match at the weekend as he looks to juggle his players' fitness in the midst of a packed fixture schedule.

Klopp lauded the job that Arteta has done since taking over as head coach at the Emirates Stadium whilst praising the Gunners £45million summer signing for his recent performances. Speaking in his pre-Arsenal press conference, Klopp said: "Gabriel Jesus, Mikel [Arteta] could see how good he could be not in a Man City shirt.
"I always liked Gabriel Jesus as a player. Exceptional player, you always saw that at Man City."
In his five years at the Etihad Stadium, Jesus scored 95 goals and provided a further 46 assists in his 236 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side playing as both a striker and winger. Klopp continued: "His role at City was a 9 or a winger, everyone said last season City had no No.9, but he was still there! Now he plays his role [striker]. He's flying and full of confidence. Top class."
Jesus has made an instant impact since arriving in north London, enjoying a fruitful pre-season tour with his new club and carrying his fine form into the new campaign having scored five goals and provided four assists in just 10 appearances. The Brazilian striker and William Saliba's return from loan have completely rejuvenated Arsenal as they continue to fight with Manchester City at the top of the table, with the Gunners coming into the game against Liverpool as favourites for the first time in years.
