Jurgen Klopp has again indicated Fabio Carvalho could join Liverpool's list of departures with a temporary transfer this summer - but has no appetite for sanctioning similar moves for other first-team youngsters.
Liverpool will bid farewell to five players following Sunday's final Premier League match of the season at relegated Southampton, with James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain departing on the expiry of their contracts and on-loan Arthur Melo returning to parent club Juventus.
A number of others are also likely to leave in the coming weeks, although the Reds are not entertaining a permanent exit for Carvalho despite a frustrating debut campaign following his arrival from Fulham in which he has been limited to just eight starts.

And while open to a loan move for the 20-year-old, Klopp made a point of praising the attitude of the attacking midfielder.
“I think there is a maybe a possibility Fabio goes on loan but the thing is this was not Fabio’s best year in his career, clear, but it might have been his most important," said the Liverpool boss. "No player has impressed me more than Fabio, it is the truth.
"This talented boy came here with big dreams and big expectations and it didn’t work out – it was okay in the beginning but it didn't work out in the end. But his work ethic will give him a fantastic career because he trained with getting nothing.
"Players have only one issue each week: you line me up or you put me in the squad. It's the only thing to satisfy a player. If I don't do that it is about how the player reacts and his reactions – in a row - I never saw before. Unbelievable. I'm not sure if he will go on loan but if we keep him we will see that."
Unlike Carvalho, there are no plans for the likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott - who have become first-team squad regulars this season - and 18-year-old breakthrough midfielder Stefan Bajcetic to make similar loan moves.
"We want to keep them if we can give them the opportunity to play definitely because they have the quality," said Klopp on Friday.
"The next generation after that is a different story but Conor Bradley is coming back, I saw him yesterday and I had a feeling he grew in the time he was at another club, and we have big hopes for him, Luke Chambers coming back, other boys coming back, Owen Beck now back.
"We have real talents, Tyler Morton coming back and we will see what happens as he is currently injured. We will see, no real plans, the pre-season will star and then we will make these decisions."
