Jurgen Klopp comment at Liverpool press conference leaves Jordan Henderson and James Milner laughing

Liverpool have been presented with a unique welcome gift on their arrival in Bangkok at the start of their Far East tour of Thailand and Singapore - and an observation by manager Jurgen Klopp left James Milner and Jordan Henderson chuckling as a result

The Reds received a heroes' welcome when they landed at Suvarnabhumi International Airport this morning and went straight into press conference duties at the airport.

Before the media gathering session got properly underway, manager Klopp was presented with a special hand-crafted ball which features images of Liverpool's players on it. But on closer inspection, the German noted that vice-captain Milner, who had joined Klopp for press duties alongside Jordan Henderson, had not been included on the ball.

As the ball is passed to Liverpool's manager, he is informed that the impressive custom-made ball is "the only one in the world", but it doesn't take long for the German to spot the absence of veteran Milner. As he inspects the ball, the press conference host asks: "Missing anyone?" to which Klopp responds by saying: "Milly has come to the press conference but he hasn't made it onto the ball!"

The quip from Klopp leaves the trio in a laughing fit that is partially hidden by facemasks, but there is no hiding their amusement at the omission of Milner on the ball. Once composure returns, both captain Henderson and Milner expressed their pleasure at visiting the Far East for the tour.

Henderson said: “Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I know how passionate the fans here are. We’re very happy to be here and see everyone. Hopefully you enjoy the game on Tuesday.”

Liverpool will face Manchester United at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Tuesday (July 12) afternoon, in a game which kicks off at 2pm UK time, before heading to Singapore to play against Crystal Palace in the national stadium on Friday (July 15).
