Jurgen Klopp breaks silence on Jude Bellingham and outlines midfield plan

Jurgen Klopp has launched a defence of Liverpool's midfield options as he broke his silence on transfer interest in Jude Bellingham.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder this summer, despite the Bundesliga side's reported unwillingness to enter into discussions over the England international after offloading star striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City earlier in the transfer window.

Bellingham is a player who has plenty of admirers within Liverpool's recruitment department, including Klopp, but the Reds boss says he doesn't believe the 19-year-old is available this summer. And Klopp thinks his midfield is already well stocked as he talked up the talents of the players he is entrusting to perform in the Liverpool engine room this coming campaign.

Chelsea sent Liverpool and Man City warning after Raheem Sterling deal agreed

Chelsea have been told they must do a 'lot more' in the transfer market to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Thomas Tuchel's side are close to signing Raheem Sterling from City for £47m.

The addition of Sterling will bolster a Chelsea attack that is now without £97m man Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian rejoined Inter Milan on loan. The west London outfit have also made a bid for one-time Liverpool target Raphinha from Leeds United while they have been linked with another player Jurgen Klopp has admired in the past, Ousmane Dembele.

But Chelsea appear short in defence after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christenson on free transfers to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. And while they are said to be interested in another City player, centre-back Nathan Ake, talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor believes they will find it tough to mount a title challenge next season.
