Jurgen Klopp backs lethal Diogo Jota to reach new levels after Liverpool star’s brace downs Leicester

Jurgen Klopp believes Diogo Jota can continue even further upon his upward trajectory.

The Liverpool forward bagged a brace in 2-0 win over Leicester City to keep his side within realistic touching distance of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Jota, alongside Luis Diaz, look like the future of the Liverpool frontline and the Portuguese is emerging as the biggest threat to Mohamed Salah’s lead position in the race for the Golden Boot.

His double on Thursday evening took the former Wolves forward to 12 goals in 19 League starts this season, a career-high at the top level.

Speaking after the win, Klopp admitted the club had “no idea where his limit is” when buying the Portugal international and suggested the 25-year-old could yet improve.

“I love 1-0’s but I love 2 and 3-0’s too!” said the German.

“He is obviously in a goalscoring moment which is incredibly helpful without Mo [Salah] and Sadio [Mane]. We had no idea where his limit is and I am not sure he is there. He is improving all of the time.”
