Jurgen Klopp’s agent has dismissed the possibility of the Liverpool manager leaving the Reds to take over as Germany manager.
Germany host next summer’s European Championships, and have already qualified as a result. But that hasn’t stopped current manager Hansi Flick from finding himself under-pressure after a poor run of results in friendly matches.
The former Bayern Munich manager was appointed by Die Mannschaft in August 2021, despite links with Klopp at the time. But Flick has found himself the subject of scrutiny after a winless June international break saw Germany draw 3-3 with Ukraine in Bremen, having trailed 3-1 with less than 10 minutes remaining, lost 1-0 to Poland in Warsaw, and then lost 2-0 to Colombia, after Liverpool forward Luis Diaz opened the scoring, in Gelsenkirchen.
Having also lost 3-2 to Belgium in Cologne in March, Germany are winless from their last four matches, having suffered a shock group-stage exit in last winter’s World Cup. Throw in an underwhelming showing in last year’s Nations League, and Flick’s side have only won five of their 17 matches since the start of 2022.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has called for the national team must to 'act now' and sack Flick as a result, insisting he has 'lost the trust of the players'.
“The danger that this will go wrong with him is so great that you have to act now,' he told Sky Germany. “It's going in the wrong direction at a huge pace. [He has] lost the trust of the players.
“If it's right in the team, then the boys do it themselves, because they say: ‘We'll go through fire for him.’ That's not the case at the moment.”
On Wednesday, German outlet BILD sent out an SOS message calling for Klopp to leave Liverpool and take over from Flick. Journalist Matthias Bruegelmann would laud the Reds boss as the ‘premium solution’, writing: “Already after the exit in Qatar he was sounded out - but in vain.
“He felt it was his duty to lead Liverpool out of the crisis! But the DFB has to fight for him with all its might. Klopp would put Germany in Euro euphoria from now on.”
But now the same outlet has spoken to Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke. And he’s made it clear that the German won’t be walking away from Liverpool.
"Jurgen has a long-term contract with the LFC and the DFB has a national coach,” he said. “So it's not an issue for us at all."
Klopp has previously echoed such sentiments himself, of course, most recently coming before Flick’s appointment he was linked with replacing Joachim Low after Euro 2020.
"Am I available for the job in the summer? No,” he said. “I will not be available as a potential coach for the German team.
“I have three years left at LFC, don't I? It's simple. You sign a contract and you stick to that contract. I stuck to contracts at Mainz and Dortmund."
Klopp is under contract with Liverpool until the end of the 2025/26 season, having extended his contract by a further two years in April 2022.
