Jurgen Klopp is hopeful Jordan Henderson will avoid a spell on the sidelines after the Liverpool skipper suffered an injury scare.
Henderson was forced to limp off 19 minutes from time after a clash of knees with Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez during the Reds’ 3-0 Champions League win in Amsterdam on Wednesday.
The captain, who set up the opener for Mohamed Salah, was in clear pain when he lay prone on the turf but was able to depart without any need for on-field treatment.

And asked afterwards if Henderson was fine, Reds boss Klopp said: “I think so, I was worried as well, I saw the situation because it was in front of me.
“I think he got knee on knee, so (it was) painful. A bruise, probably, really painful. But as far as I know now nothing else.”
Darwin Nunez, who scored Liverpool’s second goal, played 63 minutes after missing the weekend Premier League defeat at Nottingham Forest with a hamstring strain, while Ibrahima Konate returned as an unused substitute.
And when asked if there were any further injury scares with his team next in action at home to Leeds United on Saturday night, Klopp said: “Everyone else is okay. We didn’t spend too much time in the dressing room (after the game) but nobody came to me with bigger problems.”
