Junior Colson Reunites With Coach Harbaugh In NFL Draft

Junior Colson Haitian-American american football player

Junior Colson, who was coached by Jim Harbaugh during his time at the University of Michigan, will now be joining Harbaugh in the NFL as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. Harbaugh recently returned to the NFL after nine seasons at Michigan to take on the role of head coach for the Chargers.

Colson is one of several Wolverines who were selected in the recent NFL draft. Notably, J.J. McCarthy was chosen as the 10th overall pick and will be playing as a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. In the third round of the draft, three consecutive Michigan players were drafted: Blake Corum to the Rams, Roman Wilson to the Steelers, and Zak Zinter to the Bengals.

Colson received the life-changing news of being the 69th pick in the draft from none other than his former coach, Harbaugh. During the call, Harbaugh and Colson shared a moment by reciting the famous Michigan rallying cry, 'Who's got it better than us?' to which Colson responded, 'Nobody.' Harbaugh also cheered, 'Hail to the Victors,' a familiar chant from his time at Michigan.

Colson had an impressive season at Michigan, setting a career-high with 44 solo tackles and leading the team with 95 total tackles. His contributions were instrumental in Michigan's undefeated 15-0 season.

The Chargers, whose defense ranked 28th in the NFL last year, will benefit from Colson's skills as they aim to strengthen their defensive lineup. With Harbaugh at the helm and Colson on board, the Chargers are looking to make significant improvements in the upcoming season.
