Junior Andre hosts meet-up with fans as single goes to number one

Junior Andre shared his big moment with his fans after arranging to meet them when he discovered he had gone to number one.

The 17-year-old - managed by singing dad Peter - climbed to the top of the iTunes charts with debut song Slide.

He made the most of it by headed to Battersea Park to greet some of his big supporters.

Junior uploaded a video of himself signing autographs and posing for photos with more than a dozen young fans.

Thanking them for helping his song fly, the teenager wrong: "You guys are the best. Thank you some much for bringing the vibes. Where should I go next?"

Slide sold more than both mega stars Harry Styles and Lady Gaga, the other debut songs on the download charts.

He officially launched the single in London with rapper Big Narstie over the weekend.

But in the UK Charts, Kate Bush's hit Running Up The Hill hit first place.

Mum Katie Price also shared her excitement at Junior’s hugely successful debut single, as she said she was “so proud” of her son, and uploaded screenshots of her listening to the track.

His sister Princess posted a clip of Junior taking to the stage to perform his hit and said: 'So proud @officialjunior_andre'.

After hearing the news, Junior posted: "The love you guys have shown today has been crazy and you have got Slide in at Number 1 in the iTunes charts!!

"Now we just need to keep it going.

"Thank you for supporting new artists like me, without you none of this would be possible."

Dad Peter said hard work pays off for Junior, who has dedicated every day to making sure his debut release hits the heights.

The 90s hit-maker, who is mentoring son Junior on launching his own pop career 30 years after he himself burst into the business, has been helping to push the tune on his own social media platforms.

Alongside managing his eldest child, who is signed to Columbia records, Pete is juggling his own work schedule.
