Julian Nagelsmann has already outlined Tottenham job intentions amid expected Antonio Conte sack

Antonio Conte's future at Tottenham remains unclear. football.london understands many of his Spurs players expect him to depart the club during this international break following his explosive tirade in Saturday's press conference following the 3-3 draw at Southampton.

The 53-year-old is yet to return to Hotspur Way, it is understood, with the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager currently in Italy with his family. This is not uncommon, however, as Conte often returns later in the first week of an international break as he spends time with his family at his Turin home.

Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini took charge of a Tottenham training ground friendly against Ipswich on Thursday, football.london understands. The game ended 3-2 to Ipswich and it's understood Hugo Lloris played some part as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

With Conte's future up in the air, Daniel Levy may now consider Julian Nagelsmann as his replacement with the Bayern Munich boss reportedly close to being sacked by the German champions. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Bayern have scheduled meeting to officially confirm to Julian Nagelsmann that he has been fired. German coach, expected at Säbener Straße soon in order to terminate the contract. His deal was due to expire in June 2026 but he will leave with immediate effect."

Interestingly, should Nagelsmann be available, the German manager has already made his feelings clear about the Premier League. Speaking to The Telegraph in 2021 when he was manager of RB Leipzig, the 35-year-old said: "I have a contract now until 2023 so I think I will stay in Leipzig.

"The Premier League is a very interesting league and I can imagine it could be a big aim to be a big manager in the Premier League one day like Jurgen [Klopp] who is very successful. It could be a step in the future. But, you know, in soccer it’s not that easy to plan ‘how long will you be a manager in Leipzig? When will you go to the Premier League?’

"I could imagine going to the Premier League. I could imagine staying as a manager in the Bundesliga for my whole career. It’s cool to be a manager in my own country. I love it. But then perhaps in the future we can meet face-to-face in the Premier League, who knows."
