Julian Draxler's PSG pre-season tour absence opens door for exit amid Newcastle United link

Julian Draxler's absence from PSG's pre-season tour of Japan could open the door for a potential switch to Newcastle United. The German international has been made surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes this summer and has been left out of the Ligue 1 champions tour.

Christophe Galtier's side ran out 6-2 winners over Gamba Osaka with Draxler left behind after appearing on Luiz Campos' 'black list' according to Le10Sport. The German has reportedly been made available for transfer this summer and Newcastle have been linked with a £20-30million move for the 28-year-old.

Eddie Howe's side are looking to add quality to Newcastle's starting XI in attacking areas after bolstering their back line this summer. The Magpies have been linked with moves for Moussa Diaby, Jack Harrison, Anthony Gordon and most recently Harvey Barnes, but have been priced out of moves.

Reports elsewhere claim Newcastle are looking to spend £25million on a winger as they look to stick to their strict transfer budget. Draxler started just 12 games for the Ligue 1 side last season and has already spoken about his desire to play more games with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this upcoming winter.

Le10Sport claim Newcastle are already in talks with PSG and the player's representatives over a move to St. James' Park this summer.
