Julia Fox has been praised by fans for showing her “underwhelming” New York City apartment in a new video.
The 32-year-old filmed her modest living space, shared with her two-year-old son Valentino, on TikTok in a bid to showcase the realities of living in the Big Apple.
Fox said: “I never thought in a million years I would do this, but I believe in maximum transparency, and so I’m gonna give you guys an apartment tour. I know I’m going to get roasted.
“Hopefully, maybe someone can watch this and say, Okay, maybe I’m not doing so bad.”
The Uncut Gems star began her video by giving viewers a glimpse of her bedroom in the studio flat, which she also uses as a living room and a playing space for her son.
Fox then pointed out her “nostalgia mirror” in the room, adorned with photos of her late friends, and revealed a necklace hanging off of it, containing one of their ashes.
The actress, who previously dated Kanye West, also filmed her extra-long hallway and “very tiny” bathroom, and showed her “messy” kitchen, which had piles of shoes boxes stacked in the corner, a trait she said is “very common for New Yorkers”.
Fox finished the clip by showing off the room in the apartment she’s most proud of, her son’s bedroom, which she shared she “put the most effort in”.
Fans hailed Fox a “relatable icon” for giving a tour of her realistic NYC apartment.
One person commented: “I love you for transparency and just openness”.
“You’re apartment is literally my apartment, I feel so seen rn,” a second said.
A third wrote: “Julia fox is the most normal celebrity I have ever seen”.
Another added: “So nice to see that your place is not curated museum-like flat, but a really cosy place where you actually live and enjoy.”
Fox revealed her apartment does have a mice problem, which she didn’t appear too bothered about.
She said: “I kind of, let them rock. I appreciate that, at night, they come out and clean up the crumbs…I’m not gonna evict the mice soon.”
She finished her video by saying: “For me personally I don’t like excessive displays of wealth, they make me feel icky. Especially people who have really big houses.
“It’s just really wasteful when there’s so many homeless people in this country and I’m not really like that.”
