Sevilla and their star centre-back Jules Kounde are both said to be 'desperate' for an immediate transfer solution as Thomas Tuchel's Reece James plan confirms Chelsea's transfer U-turn.
Chelsea's defensive re-shape is starting to take some form of shape now with the likes of Premier League-proven Nathan Ake, Matthijs de Ligt and Milan Skriniar the three prime candidates to join this summer. It is understood that two new centre-halves are going to be signed by Todd Boehly in his first summer, so you would assume that two of the aforementioned options will be donning Chelsea blue in 2022/23.
Currently, Ake and De Ligt look the most likely to happen but with talks opened for Skriniar too, it's anyone's game at the moment as Boehly looks to make a move on his £200million transfer promise made to first-team manager Tuchel ahead of pre-season starting this weekend. But what does this all mean for Sevilla's Kounde who was destined to seal his dream move to the Premier League after major transfer disappointment last season?

Well, despite reports that Chelsea no longer had him high up the priority list due to the Les Bleus international being more of a club target identified by the already gone Marina Granovskaia, these reports have been rubbished by the European press.
Reports of a transfer U-turn had indicated that there was yet some life in this certain transfer as it was hinted that 'steps' had been re-taken for a player that Sevilla are now understood to be 'desperate' to get rid of for around £56million.
With Barcelona's focus elsewhere amid rumours they could sign that they could soon be signing Bayern Munich icon Robert Lewandowski for £52m, Chelsea are the only club whereby a deal could be constructed in the near future.
At this current moment though, operation Ake and De Ligt are taking priority but this isn't the end of the world for the 23-year-old as Tuchel's plan for next season seemingly includes his inclusion in his squad.
The Telegraph as well as confirming that the Kounde option is still very much on the table for the current world champions has reported that he could still be signed alongside both the Dutch centre-backs this summer as his potential new manager aims to play him at right-wing-back to start off with. This would mean that Reece James would move into either right-centre-back or midfield.
Would Jules Kounde at right-wing-back really work or does that sound like a recipe for disaster? Leave us your thoughts down below in the comments section!
