Judy Murray tennis club visit postponed as nation mourns Queen's death

Tennis icon Judy Murray's visit to Rutherglen Tennis Club on Saturday has been scrapped as a nation mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The famous tennis coach, who is Andy and Jamie's mum, was due to visit the tennis club tomorrow for a 'Mini Murray Day' between 2pm and 6pm, which was to celebrate the return of the Davis Cup to Glasgow.

It was to feature several games and activities for people of all ages and abilities, including a 'Battle of the Brits skills challenge'.

However, the club has taken the decision to postpone the event in light of events on Thursday afternoon, as the monarch passed away, aged 96.

The club took to social media to say: "Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen yesterday, the decision has been taken to postpone tomorrow's event as a mark of respect.

"We'll announce a new date soon, which will follow an identical format.

"Everyone who booked in for tomorrow will be given first refusal in the new date.

"We send our condolences to HRH King Charles III and the rest of the Royal Family at this very sad time for our nation."
