Judge Rinder flirts with 'strapping sailors' in best way possible as pubs reopen

Judge Rinder celebrated the reopening of pubs by heading out for drinks in London this week and ended up playing a boozy game with a group of Royal Navy sailors.

The telly star - real name Robert Rinder - headed to The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich on the banks of the River Thames and got chatting to the crew of HMS Trent.

Robert, 42, revealed he got his first post-lockdown pint but it descended into game of drink buying with the "strapping sailors".

In a post on Twitter, he explained: "First post lockdown drink at @TheTrafalgarT Greenwich. A group of strapping Royal Navy Sailors from @HMSTrent sent me over a glass rum...

"I countered with Prosecco... they responded with Rioja... I polished them off with Champagne. Best fight ever."

The outing will have come as a huge boost to the star after a tough few weeks.

Last month, Robert told his fans he was "in shock" after being mugged by three boys on bikes wearing balaclavas.

The incident took place Hampstead, north London and the telly star described his horror in a post on Twitter.

He wrote: "I've just had my phone grabbed out my hands by 3 boys wearing balaclavas on bikes (Finchley Road & Canfield gardens).

"They laughed as I shouted to drop it. I'm in shock but am insured & privileged. Others are less lucky. Help me find these people & stop them (financial reward)."

Police launched an investigation and Robert later admitted he felt sorry for the thugs.

He tweeted: "After the rage, I feel an overwhelming sense of sadness for these boys because I’ve seen where their path leads...

"In the meantime we need to champion, train & fully resource our brave police officers - who come from EVERY background - to work with ALL communities to protect us."
