Robert Rinder has been left devastated after the "sudden" death of his beloved dog Rocco.
The Good Morning Britain star, who also appeared on Strictly in 2016, said that he had been struck with "profound sadness".
Judge Rinder often posted photos of Rocco on social media, sharing one of him hiding under a damp towel during the heatwave in July.
Earlier today, he posted photos of Rocco cuddling up to him as they both slept, writing: "My Rocco died suddenly yesterday. He blessed me with a lifetime of loyalty & limitless joy.
"I don’t speak about my private world normally. But wanted to share my profound sadness with anybody who has ever loved a dog. It is the deepest gift of unconditional love imaginable."
His celeb friends took to the comments to share their commiserations, with Deborah Meaden writing: "Oh Robert....I am so sad for you. It is a profound pain and my words can't change that...only time can.Its the price we pay for the love and the joy and at the end we wonder if it is worth the pain...and then the memories flood in and we know it is."
Ruth Langsford commented: "Oh Rob….I am so, so sorry. Grief is the price we pay for that unconditional love. Sending you the tightest hug ever."
