Judge Finalizes 4 Million Judgment Against Donald Trump In Fraud Case

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

The judge overseeing Donald Trump's civil fraud case has finalized the judgment against him, requiring Trump to pay a total of $454 million, including interest. This marks the beginning of a 30-day countdown for Trump to fulfill the payment.

Trump's legal team has expressed their intention to appeal the judgment, arguing that the case does not constitute fraud as they believe there was no victim, such as banks or insurance companies losing money. They have also claimed that the prosecution was politically motivated.

However, both the judge and the attorney general, Letitia James, who brought the case, have refuted these claims. Letitia James emphasized that 'no one is above the law' in a recent tweet.

During the appeal process, Trump is required to either provide the cash or post a bond to cover a portion of the verdict. There are doubts about whether Trump possesses sufficient funds to meet this financial obligation.

In a separate case where Trump has been ordered to pay over $80 million to E. Jean Carroll, he requested a 30-day delay on fulfilling the payment, which was denied by the judge.
