Manchester United signing midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid has handed the La Liga giants a boost in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham, according to reports from Spain.
The 30-year-old midfielder has left Real Madrid after seven years with the club to join Premier League side United. While the Champions League winners are by no means short of midfielders following the Brazilian's departure, attention has already turned to how they'll re-invest the £59.5m they recouped from the deal.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid's stance on signing a replacement is clear. They 'will not look' to the transfer market this window and will hold out until either January or next summer. The arrival of Aurelien Tchouameni will ease the blow of Casemiro's departure, but MARCA now claim they have the funds to sign Bellingham in 2023.

Despite ongoing speculation over his future, Bellingham looks set to remain at Borussia Dortmund this season given the Bundesliga club have already sold a big star in Erling Haaland this transfer window. Liverpool are among the clubs to be linked with the 19-year-old, although big teams across the continent will likely be interested in him.
Real Madrid are another club that have been tipped as a likely destination should Bellingham choose to leave Dortmund next summer. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City have also been linked in recent times.
Reports prior to Casemiro's departure suggested Bellingham is a key target for Real Madrid in 2023, with one from AS claiming Los Blancos are 'determined' to land his signature. Recent business has only increased speculation as the La Liga winners gradually revamp their midfield.
Pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft also gave his take on the situation today, posting on Twitter: "Bellingham will be Real Madrid’s first priority in midfield next summer. Wondering if Liverpool already talking to Dortmund to get a pre-agreement with the club. But player will have the last word".
