With the January transfer window open Chelsea's attention is going to ne spread across multiple areas. The incomings, the outgoings, the contracts and getting the jump ahead of summer moves too. It promises to be the busiest window they have ever had in the winter.
Deals for Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana have already been completed with the latter announced officially. Christopher Nkunku is expected to join in the summer and Enzo Fernandez is being heavily pursued now in one of the most ambitious deals in recent memory.
The 21-year-old has a £106million release clause and is keen on the move but there's no certainty it will be completed due to the sum of money involved and a complicated payment structure. Looking past Fernandez there are other midfield options available in the new year but most of them will have to wait until the summer.

Having had to act instinctively and quickly last summer after missing out on the chance to do groundwork whilst the club was put up for sale there is a chance to make amends now. Although Liverpool and Real Madrid are better placed to sign Jude Bellingham, Chelsea are not out of the equation.
If Fernandez is the transfer saga of the winter then Bellingham is sure to be the man for the summer. The 19-year-old had a brilliant World Cup with England but won't be making any decisions until after his season with Borussia Dortmund is finished. As for the Bundesliga outfit, Jan Aage Fjortoft has revealed what is coming up next for Bellingham.
He wrote on Twitter that the former Birmingham City man has returned to his club side on Monday ahead of a mid-season training camp. The Bundesliga is currently on its winter break so there are no competitive matches for Chelsea's Champions League last-16 opponents until January 22.
This allows Bellingham ample time to recover from Qatar at the training camp in Marbella. When it comes to his future, that is more uncertain and Chelsea may well have to be as alert as possible in the hope rather than expectation that a transfer gets done.
