Jubilee Beacons being lit across Bristol region this weekend

Many events and celebrations are taking place across the region this weekend to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Residents and communities will be able to get involved in everything from street parties to beacon lighting, library events and more.

The national Jubilee celebrations begin today (June 2) and at 9.40pm buglers and cornet players will perform bugle call ‘Majesty’ at selected beacon sites, announcing the lighting of 2,000 beacons across the UK and Commonwealth at 9.45pm.

Many beacons will be lit across the region this weekend and, in Bristol, Cabot Tower itself will become a Jubilee Beacon in a spectacular light display.
