Joy Behar mistakenly sent a congratulatory email intended for Jimmy Kimmel to Jimmy Fallon, attributing it to her lack of technological prowess. The mix-up occurred following Kimmel's hosting of the 96th Academy Awards, where he made a joke about Donald Trump staying up past his 'jail time' to criticize Kimmel's performance. Behar, 81, acknowledged her error humorously, mentioning that she could have mistakenly sent the email to Jimmy Carter.
While Kimmel's joke about Trump garnered attention, not everyone was on board with the decision to read the former president's social media post live on air. Kimmel revealed that there were attempts to dissuade him from mentioning Trump during the awards show, including from his wife, Molly McNearney, who served as a producer for the event. Despite her reservations, McNearney admitted that Kimmel was confident the joke would be well-received.
McNearney shared that Kimmel's determination to include the Trump joke paid off, with his comedic timing shining through. The couple, who married in 2013, have two children together and Kimmel has two children from a previous marriage.
