Jota subject to Rangers taunts as Celtic star spotted by Ibrox fans on flight to Spain

Jota found himself on the wrong end of a Rangers wind up after being spotted by fans on a flight to Spain.

The Ibrox faithful are heading to Seville en masse as the Europa League final with Eintracht Frankfurt looms large.

Fans have been clamouring for flights to Spain with virtually every departure from Scotland now packed out.

And one fan spotted a couple of familiar faces - although it perhaps isn't who he might have expected on a plane "full of Rangers fans."

One user on Twitter claimed to have spotted Celtic duo Jota and Starfelt on his flight and followed it up with a couple of videos as evidence.

One ten-second clip shows a fan singing 'John Lundstram is the best on earth', a staple tune of the Ibrox faithful after his winning goal against RB Leipzig, in the direction of Jota.

But if there was any doubt the man in the flatcap was actually the Celtic winger, the second video confirms it.

In a good-natured exchange, Jota is seen smiling as a fan laughs and tells him "you must be hating life."

Another clip shows Jota leaving the airport as one fan is heard shouting: "Jota, did you ask big Calvin Bassey if you could come on this holiday? Did he let you out his pocket for the night?"

The same fan claims Carl Starfelt was also on the flight although he isn't pictured.

It's likely the pair are off on holiday after signing off for the Premiership season with a 6-0 victory over Motherwell that put the cherry on the title cake.
