Benfica will reportedly be due 30% of any future transfer fee if Celtic sign Jota on a permanent deal.
The winger has been chatting with the Hoops for a number of weeks over a potential full-time switch.
It is believed a £6.5million fee would seal the deal and the Portuguese wants the move.
Negotiations are ongoing, but Portuguese outlet A Bola report that a sell-on clause will be inserted into the deal.
That will earn Benfica a slice of the pie should Celtic sell the 23-year-old at any point in the future.
Jota opened the scoring during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Rangers at Parkhead.
That came a week after he scored the second for Ange Postecoglou ’s side in their 2-0 victory at Ross County.
Celtic are six points clear of their rivals at the top of the table.
Four points from their final three matches will be enough to crown them champions for the tenth time in 11 years.
