Jota's Celtic offside controversy addressed by Motherwell as Alan Burrows claims there WERE more VAR angles

Motherwell chief Alan Burrows says the VAR room had access to more angles than were shown on PPV to rule Jota offside.

The Celtic winger appeared to have doubled his side's lead with a stunning goal at Fir Park only for the VAR room to intervene with Willie Collum deeming it offside. But the angle shown to PPV viewers, which was shared widely on social media, was from the other end of the pitch and made it next to impossible to determine whether the decision was correct.

But Motherwell chief Burrows, addressing a fan on Twitter, says there were Hawkeye cameras in both halves so officials would have had a better angle than the one presented to viewers. He said: "We facilitate the Scottish FA in placing them where they feel is most appropriate.

Jota's goal was ruled out for offside (SNS Group)

"There were a few site visits by SFA and Hawkeye and 18-yard positions were selected in both halves. We even got one upgraded (at our expense). Both were in operation last night."
