Jota is in a fitness race against time for the Champions League clash between Celtic and RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese winger was subbed at half-time in the weekend's 2-1 Premiership win over St Johnstone but manager Ange Postecoglou said this was simply to keep him rested amid a hectic run of games. Jota then missed training on Monday ahead of the Champions League Group F match in the section's fourth matchday, sparking concerns of a further problem.
Postecoglou has now confirmed in his pre-match briefing that the forward, signed from Benfica on a permanent basis in the summer, is 'sore' and his fate 'will be decided tomorrow'. Two wins at home for Celtic in their next home clashes in the competition against Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk, plus two Real Madrid successes against the same opposition, will see the Hoops into the round of 16. Jota scored the only goal in last week's 3-1 loss against the German side.

Postecoglou said: "It's not unusual for someone to be sore the day before a game when we have such a quick turnaround in games.
"But it is just a matter of whether or not he's right. If he's right, we will play him, but if not, he will miss out."
It's a relief for the Hoops that there's still a chance of participation as the 23-year-old has emerged as a key man since initially joining on loan last season.
